Call for Workshops/Workshop Submissions

Call for Workshops

The Australasian Conference on Information Systems 2026 is offering several special interest workshops during the conference. We invite the IS community to submit workshop proposals in areas of Information Systems research and its current landscape, especially those related to the conference theme of ‘AI-Infused Information Systems: Capabilities, Transformation, and the Next Frontier’, aiming to explore the impact of digital technologies in the academy, workplace, society and culture and looking into the evolving opportunities and challenges. We plan to give early feedback to workshop organisers about their format and similar workshop proposals and enable them to consider mergers (or fine-tuning to make workshops more distinct) ahead of time.

Workshops will take place on Tuesday 1st December 2026 during the Doctoral Consortium (DC), will be no more than half a day long, and will require all workshop participants to register for the conference.

The decision to accept/reject workshop proposals will be made by the Workshop and Panel Co-Chairs in consultation with the Conference and Program Co-Chairs. The number of workshops will be governed by space limitations.

Workshop Co-Chairs

Dr. Zeena Jamal Alsamarra’I, University of Canberra, ACT, AU
Dr. Senali Madugoda Gunaratnege, Edith Cowan University, WA, AU
A/Prof. Moshin Malik, Swinburne University of Technology, VIC, AU

Review Criteria

Consideration will be given to workshop submissions that meet the following requirements:

  • Support the conference theme, either more broadly or with direct alignment.
  • Do not overlap or duplicate the main tracks but demonstrate distinctiveness. Workshop submissions with a policy-centric focus will not be included.
  • Offer a clear plan for how value will be delivered to the participants.
  • Delivered in-person (no virtual option).

The organisers of the accepted workshop will be responsible for the review process and publicity where relevant (e.g., website and call for papers) and will need to cooperate closely with the Workshop and Panel Co-Chairs and the ACIS 2026 local organisers to finalise all operational details.

Workshop Submissions

Workshops are typically partial- or full-day sessions that facilitate discussion and exploration of ideas, techniques, and methodologies that advance research, teaching knowledge of IS-related concepts, or products from industry and their application to academia, educational curricula, or industry practice.

Please submit your Workshop idea by the Workshop Submission Deadline by completing the ACIS 2026 Workshop Template and submitting it in the online form below. Alternatively, contact acis@aaisnet.org for further enquiries or assistance.
