Track Description
As Chairs of the General Track for ACIS 2026, we invite submissions of high-quality Information Systems (IS) research, including both completed studies and research-in-progress. We particularly encourage submissions aligned with the conference theme: “AI-Infused Information Systems: Capabilities, Transformation, and the Next Frontier.” We seek scholarly work that adopts a socio-technical perspective to examine how AI-infused information systems are reshaping organisations, digital ecosystems, and society. Submissions should aim to offer impactful insights that advance both theory and practice in addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities arising from AI-enabled transformation.
Relevant topics may include, but are not limited to:
- capabilities required for AI-enabled information systems, including data, analytics, and digital infrastructures
- organisational and societal transformation driven by AI technologies
- AI-Augmented decision making and reasoning (as we already have Future of Work in two other tracks)
- governance, ethics, and responsible use of AI in information systems
- digital innovation and emerging frontiers in AI-enabled platforms and ecosystems
We welcome a broad range of methodological approaches, including theoretical, empirical, design science, case studies, and mixed-methods research that enrich our understanding of AI-Infused information systems and their implications for individuals, organisations, and society. Interdisciplinary and practice-oriented contributions that bridge research and practice are particularly encouraged.
Finally, the General Track serves as a home for submissions that engage meaningfully with the conference theme but may not fit within other specialized tracks.
