Track Description
Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining how information systems (IS) projects are conceived, developed, and evolved. From generative design and automated coding assistants to predictive analytics and intelligent project monitoring, AI is increasingly embedded across the IS lifecycle. These technologies challenge traditional boundaries of expertise, accountability, creativity, and collaboration in IS work.
This track invites research that critically examines how AI transforms IS development and delivery practices. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and design-oriented studies that explore how human–AI collaboration, automation, and algorithmic decision-making reshape the management, governance, and design of IS projects.
By focusing on AI within IS projects, rather than as a standalone application domain, this track complements existing ACIS themes on emerging technologies, innovation, and governance. It aims to generate new theoretical and practical insights into how intelligent technologies co-create the systems that organisations and societies increasingly depend upon.
Quality papers from this track will be invited to submit a refined version to the Project Management Journal for fast-track consideration.
