Call for TREO Talks

We are thrilled to launch the inaugural TREO Talks at the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS 2024), inspired by successful initiatives at AMCIS and ICIS. This forum offers a unique opportunity to present preliminary ideas, innovative educational methods, and exploratory opinions on information systems with a sustainability focus. It is expected ideas presented in this forum will foster collaboration, engagement and broader and viable research in future.

Objectives of TREO Talks at ACIS 2024: TREO Talks aims to foster a dynamic environment for interdisciplinary idea exchange, broaden networking among academics, professionals, and emerging scholars such as HDRs, and influence both academic and practical outcomes. This initiative seeks to extend the impact of our discussions beyond the conference, nurturing a knowledge-rich, digitally driven ecosystem.

Broad Information Systems Topics:

  • Emerging technologies and their transformative effects on business and society.
  • Enhancing digital security and protecting personal data.
  • Ethical challenges of artificial intelligence and the responsibilities of IS professionals.

Sustainability in Digital Practices:

Submission Information

Panel Proposal Format

Participants are invited to submit two-page abstracts (excluding references) featuring nascent research, educational innovations, current practice opinions, or new sustainability integration methods in digital contexts. Submissions will undergo an editorial review to ensure relevance and suitability for ACIS 2024, aiming to ignite further discussion and development in information systems.

Eligibility: We invite scholars and practitioners to submit their abstracts to discuss their ideas and reflect on their work. There is a particular interest in receiving submissions from emerging economists. Attendees of the TREO Forum must be registered for the main ACIS conference. No additional fee is required to attend the TREO Forum.

Venue and Context: ACIS 2024 will convene in Canberra from December 4-6, 2024, offering an ideal forum for discussions on the future of Information Systems in a world prioritizing sustainability and innovation.

Engagement and Publication: Accepted abstracts will be featured in dedicated conference sessions and included in the AIS e-Library, promoting sustained engagement with these vital topics. All TREO Talks materials will be published in the AIS e-Library TREO Talks section, facilitating broader interaction with the content post-conference.

All submissions must be made via the ACIS 2024 EasyChair Submission System using the ACIS 2024 “TREO Talks” track.
