The John Campbell Research Impact Award is a $1500 prize co-sponsored by AAIS and ACPHIS that honours John Campbell’s commitment to practice-relevant research and his contributions to the Information Systems discipline. The award recognises research that has had, or has the potential to have, significant impact on industry, government, not-for-profit organisations, and society, with eligibility for academics or practitioners in the Australasian region who have published articles in the calendar year prior to the award. The award commemorates John Campbell, who passed away in 2019 after a distinguished career exploring practice-relevant IS research and providing mentorship to junior researchers throughout the Australasian IS community.
Nominations are accepted year-round with a November deadline, and winners are announced at the ACIS conference dinner in December, with judging based on the paper’s impact potential on organisations and society, as well as its research quality contribution to the Information Systems field.
