Visa and Customs Information

Visa Information

International delegates please note, if you are visiting Australia, you will require a valid Visa; see Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Australian Government Department of Home Affairs provides the information you need to distinguish between the different types of Australian Visa and how to apply for different Visa types.

There are costs associated with acquiring an Australian Visa. Also, please make sure to apply as soon as possible for your visa as there will likely be some processing time for a visa to be approved and issued.

Please note that the AAIS manager of the ACIS Conference Sequence is not in the position to give you advice about the Visa process. Consult your travel agent, consulate and/or the respective websites for further Visa information and for applying for Visas.

Customs Information

Australia is justifiably famous for its unique flora and fauna. To protect it the Australian Border Force, who operates amongst other things the border customs at Australian airports and ports, places strict prohibitions on what can be brought into the country. Failure to comply will involve penalties.

A set of Australian Travel FAQs is available that describes travelling around Australia, customs and biosecurity, declaring your goods, and assistance and accessibility at ports of entry.
